International Activities
To pursue safer and more effective transportation of radioactive materials, it is necessary to share technologies and knowledge among countries involved in nuclear fuel transport. By participating in meetings of experts hosted by such organizations as the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the International Maritime Organization (IMO), NFT addresses revisions of the international transport regulations and the adoption of national regulations.
As a member of the World Nuclear Transport Institute (WNTI), NFT positively cooperates with WNTI in its international NGO activities, representing the nuclear fuel transport industry, by dispatching a technical adviser to the WNTI London office and participating in international conferences.
NFT has information exchange contacts with some overseas companies and holds information exchange meetings regularly to promote safer and more effective transport operations with those companies.
NFT also proactively participates in international symposiums such as the International Symposium on the Packaging and Transportation of Radioactive Materials (PATRAM) to present its R&D activities and exchange information. We are taking the initiative on strengthening international cooperative relationships and gathering information related to advanced technologies in this field.
